BIO:

Family owned and operated since 2014, Macie Art Glass has something to offer for everyone, from the young student starting out, to the young at heart, looking to explore their creative side. At our studio in Lumberton, you will find our retail store, stocked with a wide variety of stained glass and fusible glass, along with all the tools an artist would need to bring their creation to life. Our technicians are highly skilled in glass repair and restoration, and our staff of artists are available for custom creations. Our seasoned instructors offer hands-on learning in various disciplines encompassing the glass art medium. Macie Art Glass is excited to welcome students to our new space at Studio 67 Medford for classes. Come be inspired.

Glass Flower Fusing Workshop

Join us for a glass fusing workshop! Students cut and assemble glass decorations that will be fired in our studio kiln. Each student will be provided materials to cut and arrange floral designs on a 6″ x 8″ piece of glass. Your project will be ready for pick up at the studio within the week, complete with base and ready to display.

Copper Foil with Risa

A comprehensive class on the art of Stained Glass using the Copper Foil method.

Classes in these sessions meet Saturdays 12:00pm – 2:30pm and 3pm – 5:30pm
(Booking Menu lists each session by date of first class)

Appropriate for all skill levels including beginners

In this 2.5 hour class, instructor Risa Dera will provide guidance and hands on demonstration for cutting, grinding, foiling, soldering, and polishing your project. Grinders and saws will be available for student use as well.

REGISTRATION FEE: $150 for 5 classes. Classes meet weekly for 2.5 hours. Supplies and materials will be sold separately.

PRE-CLASS PREPARATION: Our Medford classroom at studio 67 does not keep glass or other materials in stock. Any materials needed for your project will need to be obtained prior to class. If you are a beginner, please visit our Lumberton store for orientation (anytime during our business hours) to pick out a pattern and purchase supplies and materials. We have many options at varying price points. Estimated cost for these supplies/materials typically range $100 – $250.

SAFETY: Please do not work with lead if you are pregnant. Please wear safety glasses and closed-toed shoes.
