Studio 67 Medford Art Show and Sale – Opening Event
October 1 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm
A one person show and sale of the art work by Jennifer King Maggio, PhD
A life-long artist and educator, Jennifer has woven together her passion for both creating and sharing art through the years.
Earning a Studies in the Arts degree from Stockton State College (now Stockton University), then going on to complete a Master’s Degree in Education from Marygrove College, and finally receiving her Doctorate in Education specializing in Arts Education from Walden University, Jennifer was able to be a teaching artist. While growing her teaching career in the Atlantic City School district (1989-2015), Jennifer also stayed active on a personal level in arts organizations and exhibitions, receiving awards and selling artwork. This real world involvement was a valuable link for her beloved arts students. She was inspired to show them how much the world needs artists…and to get their work out into the community through the Community Arts Club she designed, and through ensuring that their work was well represented in local and national competitions and murals.
Since retirement from teaching, Jennifer has been painting with abandon! She has joined many local arts groups and exhibits regularly in both group and solo shows in the South Jersey area. As has been the case since earliest childhood, Jennifer has an unquenchable thirst for honoring sacred everyday life moments by capturing them and spending extra time with them through her art. An exquisite dance of light on a precious pet, a surprise bloom in her garden, the typical, cherished pose of a loved one—moment after moment must be preserved tenderly with just the right gesture lines, colors, lighting.
Jennifer lives in Galloway, NJ with her husband Michael and five fur children. She and Michael have three wonderful sons and two amazing grandchildren between them.
